Dear Colleagues

On the 3^rd – 5^th May 2023, Malta hosts the 14^th Conference of the Network of Public Prosecutors or equivalent institutions at the Supreme Judicial Courts of the Member States of the European Union (Nadal Network).

On behalf of myself and the Office of Attorney General of  Malta, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Nadal 2023 conference.

Our network provides the ideal forum to exchange ideas, share experiences, discuss and consider topical matters that are common to all of the public prosecutors or equivalent institutions at the Supreme Judicial Courts of the Member States as well as facilitates contact and exchange of information.

The Nadal 2023 conference will continue the discussions and work started in Tallin and Vienna on developing and further strengthening the structure of our network.    

We will also discuss recent judgments delivered by the Court of Justice of the European Union in the field of data protection and the fight against serious crime.

I would like to thank, in advance, all the speakers, panel chairpersons and participants for their valuable contributions.

I look forward to our discussions and sharing of experiences in Malta.
